GPG Penarth Local Food Festival 2012 Sunday 15th July Update
Tasty treats and more
The final preparations for the second GPG Local Food Festival are well underway for today Sunday 15th July. Building on the success of last year’s event the organisers have brought together a delicious range of products for local food lovers.
Treats on offer include Welsh cheeses, fresh local produce, tasty cakes, Welsh sweets, local beers, honey and much more. Hot food on offer will include delicious local lamb burgers, crepes, tasty vegetarian dishes and a fish grill.
In addition to all the mouth watering food this year’s event will also feature live entertainment with music and demonstrations. The music will include, amongst others, some foot stomping Future Folk from The Brwmys and Stainless Steve playing his unique brand of Green Blues.
There will be crafts and entertainment for children in their very own Children’s Yurt kindly supplied by Pop-up-event. Once again the Cafe Area will be run by charitable organisation Travellers in Mind whose chocolate brownies proved very popular at last year’s event.
GPG are also very excited by the fantastic selection of raffle prizes that have been generously provided by local businesses to support the event. These include a half side of lamb, an Xmas turkey, wines, luxury items and a collection of gift vouchers from some of Penarth’s most popular independent retailers.
Altogether the event has all the ingredients for a great community day out with something for everyone and offers a wonderful opportunity to sample some fantastic local food.
The festival takes place on Sunday 15th July, 11am to 4pm at The Kymin House and Grounds, Beach Road. Entrance is free
