Great Turn out a Sugo Penarth for Social Pop Media Evening with Emma Meese
There was a great turn out for the Social Pop Evening held at Sugo Penarth on Monday 25th June. Nearly 50 local businesses attended the evening all looking to use social media more in their marketing strategy. Guest speaker was Emma Meese. She gave us a fast paced evening on social media from the standpoint of the social media novice to those that are using it more and more in their marketing mix.
Social media is a massive growth market but one of the main reasons for the the evening was to see how, as Penarth businesses, we can use the medium more in our promotion of the businesses here in Penarth. As well as the talk there was a great buzz and networking of like minded businesses all making many new contacts.
There is real power in a group of like minded businesses helping each other and last night was the start. The vehicle last night was social media but just being in a room of 50 local Penarth businesses, networking took place and some really good new contacts and hopefully new friendships were made.
For those that attended last night, we will start to take action on what was suggested by Emma creating a group of businesses in Penarth where we can support and help each other gain exposure and reach. Tanya and I are meeting on Thursday so we can get to grips with a stratgey that will help us all develop social media in our marketing mix.
My thanks to all that attended last night but a special mention must go to the following: Gabriela at Sugo for hosting the evening, Emma for her enthusiasm and great talk on social media, Tanya and Jim from Puravida Boardriders who helped make the evening possible and to the Penarth businesses that made it a truely great evening.
