Ty Hafan pledge from Welsh debutant author R A Farmer from Cardiff
Ty Hafan, the family hospice for young lives is to benefit thanks to a pledge from first-time Cardiff novelist R A Farmer, who has offered to donate all profits from the sale of his book, The Deconstructing World, to the charity.
Ty Hafan provides care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families so they can make the most of the time they have left together; the charity requires constant fundraising in order to keep doing this valuable work.
The Deconstructing World, a work of contemporary fiction, has been self-published by R A Farmer (in paperback and Kindle formats) and is available online via amazon.co.uk or lulu.com, and from stores including Cardiff’s Chapter Arts venue.
“The book has been a labour of love,” explains Farmer, 32, “and its completion and publication is a real personal achievement for me – one I’ve been chasing all my adult life.
“But now I’ve reached this goal I want others to benefit, and for a long time I’ve been supportive of any organisation working to alleviate the stress and suffering of children and their families in this area.
“It’s a real honour to me that Ty Hafan has accepted my pledge and I look forward to selling as many copies and raising as much money for them as I possibly can.”
“Here at Ty Hafan we are delighted that Ross has chosen us to benefit from the sale of his first book,” adds Ty Hafan spokesperson Frank Ady.
“With an ever-increasing number of children and young people being referred to our services the support from the general public is vital for Ty Hafan to be able to continue with its work with families from across Wales.
“We wish Ross every success with the writing career”
R A Farmer is available for interview and will also be speaking at the Capital Reads "How to get published" event on Saturday, October 27th, at Cardiff Central Library.
